Training and Development Senior Consultant Position Description

Under direction of consulting director, develops and maintains working relationship with assigned business area to provide necessary learning solutions and leverage resources (tools,

budgets, knowledge, technology) to meet priority needs. Designs, develops and

recommends and implements learning and knowledge management solutions.

Performs a combination of the following duties according to departmental guidelines:

Conducts needs analyses, designs and develops various learning solutions

including curricula, certification processes, performance support tools and job aids, instructor

led training, web based training, blended learning programs, and meeting facilitation.

Researches internal/external vendors and products for integration into training

programs and plans.

Acts as vendor relationship manager to ensure quality, timeliness and cost standards are

met.

Creates, manages, and monitors learning project plans for assigned clients.

Creates, monitors, analyzes and reports metrics to measure impact of training

activities.

Facilitates training programs, evaluates training programs and provides training program feedback to trainers and management.

Ensures adherence to training budgets.

May lead development, coordination and distribution of training communications.

Additional Responsibilities:

May conduct special projects and training as assigned.

Performs other essential duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent with professional designation.

Recent experience delivering technical training in a commercial property/casualty insurance company required.

Prior experience working as an underwriter for a commercial property/casualty insurance company required.

Strong knowledge of learning design, instructional methods and training techniques

including curriculum design principles, adult learning and blended learning theory and strategies,

and the design and integration of online and other performance support tools into

on-the-job use.

Solid knowledge and perspective on underwriting products, processes and procedures; underwriting experience preferred, especially in commercial lines.

Experience developing training for a variety iniativies, including new strategies, changes to business processes, and large-scale technology implementations.

Proven ability to translate strategic goals into appropriate training and development program

materials.

Proven analytical skills.

Solid presentation, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively

interact with internal and external business partners.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

Strong project management skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business related software.
