Associate Vice President, E&S – ALL LOCATIONS

Under general supervision, underwrites and maintains all coverage needs related to Excess & Surplus lines (E&S) assigned accounts. Maintains and applies comprehensive knowledge of company products and adheres to sound underwriting policy and procedure standards. Works with other team members to achieve department and corporate goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills for this position:

• BA/BS Degree
• 4-6 years of Medical Malpractice Underwriting experience and industry knowledge within the E&S risk arena, focused on all types of facility and large groups within healthcare.
• Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, assign and maintain priorities while maintaining a high degree of detail orientation.
• Exercise independent judgment and strong analytical ability in solving complex problems.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and other software programs related to Underwriting (e.g. experience rating tools, etc)
• Demonstrate effective teamwork by working with others throughout the NORCAL Group.
• Mathematical aptitude
• Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
