SUMMARY

Land Home Financial Services, Inc. is looking for a Corporate Underwriting Manager who will work with the Director of Operations in developing guidance for all level of Underwriters. Must have recent experience underwriting both conventional and government loans. They will provide strategic in-put and leadership on decision making issues affecting the Company’s underwriting function. They are responsible for ensuring consistent underwriting methods and standards. They will work closely with the Underwriter Trainer/QC Reviewer to determine underwriting training and audit finding issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide underwriting support to Underwriters and Operations Managers on a daily basis.

* Develop, track and monitor a set number of loans (of varying loan type) for all new underwriters before they proceed without a second level review.

* Develop, track and monitor underwriters prior to advancement to next level of underwriting authority with Operations Managers.

* Assess deficiencies in current process and implement corrective actions.

* Review and assess compliance and quality outcomes identified in the different stages of underwriting reviews and develop action plans to correct deficiencies.

* Implement regulatory, Agency, Investor and mortgage insurer guideline changes.

* Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.

* Keep Director of Operations apprised of any issues, concerns and/or findings.

* Underwrite files as needed to ensure timely file responses and actions.

* Perform other duties and projects as assigned.



* Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. College courses/degree a plus.

* DE and/or VA Automatic and LAPP SAR underwriting and appraisal authority a plus.

* Excellent project management and strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.

* Sound judgment and decision making ability.

* Communicates efficiently both written and orally, with management, colleagues and individuals inside and outside of LHFS.

* Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.

* Demonstrates predictable and regular attendance.

* May require some travel.

* Five years of underwriting experience and two years of supervisory/management experience.

* Knowledge and understanding of Fannie, Freddie, FHA, VA and USDA agency guidelines and procedures.

* Knowledge of Conventional and Government automated and manual underwriting guidelines and standards.

* Knowledge of credit reports and credit report standards.

* Knowledge of standard appraisal practices.

* Ability to perform essential functions with minimal supervision.

* Required Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access,

PowerPoint, Outlook; DU, LP, Total Scorecard and GUS underwriting systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

* Work performed at our corporate headquarters.

* May require sitting at a desk for long periods of time.

* Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks.

* Must be able to work on multiple assignments, under moderate stress levels.
